    Secondary School Transfers - information and support

    Parents can complete applications from 23rd September for secondary schools online at www.eadmisions.org.uk . Applications must be submitted by 24th October. Parents can make up to 6 school choice.

    Transfer booklets have been sent home with children. The booklet contains further information about how to make applications to schools outside of Hackney.
    The school is running sessions to support parents discuss making choices and/or complete forms online at the following times:

  • Wed 8 Oct 3.30 – 4.30
  • Thurs 9 Oct 3.00 – 4.30
  • Wed 22 Oct 8.00 – 9.00

    Reception Class Applications 2008/9

    Children born between 01.09.03. and 31.08.04. are due to start Reception in September 2008, or January 2009 for those born between 01.03.04. and 31.08.04.

    The deadline for all application as 1st February 2008. Application forms can be collected from the school, or by contacting Pupil Admissions on 0208 820 7401/7150. Alternatively you may download a copy of the form from www.learningtrust.co.uk or apply directly online at www.yourlondon.gov.uk/eadmissions

    Garden and Back Gate Closure Friday 9th November

    Due to maintenance work and improvements to cycle storage facilities the Garden and back gate will be closed on Friday 9th November. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Could parents and carers remind children not to bring scooters and bicycles on that day.

    Nursery Graduation Ceremony and term dates

    We will be holding a Graduation ceremony for Nursery children transferring to the Grasmere or other school’s Nursery classes on Tuesday 17th July at 2.30pm. .Parents and Carers are welcome to attend.

    Next Term Nursery Closure

    Grasmere pupils return to school following the Summer Holidays on Wednesday 5th September. Please note that the Nursery will be closed that day for home visits for new pupils starting school. Nursery pupils will return to school on Thursday 6th September.

    Year 6 Secondary School Transfer Meetings

    We will be hosting 3 drop in sessions for parents to discuss secondary school applications on Tuesday 27th September at 9.00am, 3.30pm and 5.00pm. Ian and Mark will be available to answer any questions and assist with filling in forms.

    School Fleeces & Uniform

    Several people have expressed an interest in purchasing items of school uniform. There are Grasmere Primary School sweatshirts and polo shirts available. In addition we can order reversible fleece jackets if families require them. There is a display of items and prices available in the downstairs corridor.     Year 6 Transfer To Secondary School

    Families have recently received a copy of The Learning Trust’s brochure about Hackney Secondary Schools.

    Ian and Mark are currently meeting with parents and carers to discuss choices. Completed applications need to be received by the school no later than 22nd October.

    Year 6 SATs Tests

    Year 6 pupils will be taking their Standardised Assessment Tests on the week beginning Monday 10th May.

    It is really important in the lead up and during that week that all the Year 6 pupils are early to bed and refreshed each day ready to do their best!
