    Hackney School Improvements Recognised

    Friday, January 19th, 2007

    Hackney top for education!

This month’s secondary league tables reveal surprising news. In terms of educational value added, the best performing local authority in England is Hackney.

All Hackney’s secondary schools perform above average (apart from Homerton, which is being closed), with three of them being in the top 5% in the country. The best performing school in the borough (*excluding Yesodey Hatorah Senior Girls School) is our local one, Stoke Newington School. Stoke Newington School’s score of 1035, means that, on average, a child at SNS will be over a year ahead of where they would be compared to an average figure for schools across England.

We are proud that former Grasmere pupils and the support of their families have contributed to this great success.
