    Well done to the Grasmere 5-A-Side team took part in the Borough competition at Queensbridge Sports centre last week.

    Our players were:

    Tristan, George, Jaidon, William, Erik, Flint, Sol and Alex.

    Well done to the following children who played in the Hackney Cluster A (Stoke Newington) Primary Football Knockout Competition this week: Joanna, William, Tristan, Emily, Alex, Eve, George, Dexter H and Jude. Scores were:

    Unfortunately our team was pipped at the post by Homleigh to go through to the Hackney finals.

    Hull City Football Mascot Success

    Congratulations to Stanley Billson Smith who was again chosen as the Hull City Mascot in last Saturday’s match against Arsenal.

    Supporters of teams the length of the British Isles have written to thank Stanley for the fantastic job he did for Hull City. Educators the length and breadth of the British Isles have thanked Stanley for his services to geography.

    Hackney Football Cup Winners

    Our Year 3 and 4 Football team were winners of the this week’s Hackney Football Cup finals and Clissold Leisure Centre. Congratulations to the team: Freddie, Ben, Jackson, Stanley B S. Louis, Flint, Oscar,Stanley S, Anthony.

    Scores were:

  • Harrington Hill 1 – Grasmere 6
  • Tyssen 1 – Grasmere 6
  • Grasmere won Sir Thomas Abney in the finals with a score of 1 – 0. Congratulations to Louis Reynolds who scored the winning goal.

    The Grasmere Football team took part in a cluster schools football tournament at Bsix College this week. The tournament involved 4 other schools, playing a mini league among the schools. We came second in the league and just missed out winning by 1 point.

    We played 8 matches, winning 3, drawing 5, losing 0 and conceding 1 goal.

    Results were: Jubilee 0 Grasmere 1 (goal scored by George), Harrington Hill 0 Grasmere 4,
    (1 goal scored by Alex and 3 by Jaidon) Grasmere 0 Tyssen 0, Sir Thomas Abney 0 Grasmere 0

    The following children represented the school in a Hackney competition: Jack,
    Maxwell, Yusuf, Rajan (scored 1 goal), Bobbie, Alex, William and George.

    All players worked very hard and played football with a smile on their face.
    Player of the tournament is Jack Sharples, for his outstanding saves, courage and maturity.
