As with all schools, Grasmere Governing Body is made up of representatives of the Local Authority, parents, teachers and members of the local business community. The Governors are responsible for the general direction of the school. They take decisions concerning staffing, curriculum and finance.
The Governors meet as a whole group at least once each term to discuss the needs and achievements of the school. The headteacher’s report is discussed at the meeting.
The Governing Body is also divided into two smaller groups that meet each half term each with a nominated chair. The committees are Curriculum & Standards Committee and the Resources Committee. Minutes and agenda of Governing Body meetings are available on request.
The Governing Body makes an Annual Report to Parents in the first half of each Autumn term about the previous academic year.
