  • Netball Success

    Grasmere’s Netball Team played St Mary’s CE in the Hackney Primary Netball League on Thursday 2 October. The scorelines suggest a team briefing from the manager akin to Rafa Benitez’s at Istanbul at half-time in the Champions League Final. Scores were:

  • Guy Fawkes Lunch 5 November

    We will be offering the children a special Guy Fawkes Lunch to commemorate Guy Fawkes Night and a man being burned at the stake by the state for terrorist activities and the Gunpowder Plot - or for fighting religious oppression and struggling for political and religious freedom as you choose to see it.

    The meal will include:

  • Secondary School Transfers - information and support

    Parents can complete applications from 23rd September for secondary schools online at www.eadmisions.org.uk . Applications must be submitted by 24th October. Parents can make up to 6 school choice.

    Transfer booklets have been sent home with children. The booklet contains further information about how to make applications to schools outside of Hackney.
    The school is running sessions to support parents discuss making choices and/or complete forms online at the following times:

    Hull City Football Mascot Success

    Congratulations to Stanley Billson Smith who was again chosen as the Hull City Mascot in last Saturday’s match against Arsenal.

    Supporters of teams the length of the British Isles have written to thank Stanley for the fantastic job he did for Hull City. Educators the length and breadth of the British Isles have thanked Stanley for his services to geography.

    Hackney Football Cup Winners

    Our Year 3 and 4 Football team were winners of the this week’s Hackney Football Cup finals and Clissold Leisure Centre. Congratulations to the team: Freddie, Ben, Jackson, Stanley B S. Louis, Flint, Oscar,Stanley S, Anthony.

    Scores were:

  • Harrington Hill 1 – Grasmere 6
  • Tyssen 1 – Grasmere 6
  • Grasmere won Sir Thomas Abney in the finals with a score of 1 – 0. Congratulations to Louis Reynolds who scored the winning goal.

    Glyn Williams Cup Success

    Congratulations to the Year 5 and 6 Grasmere 7 A Side Football team who took part in the Glyn Williams Cup on Wednesday at hackney marshes. The team were: Zeki, Cagkan, Alex, George, Sol, Tristan, Erik, Jaidon and William. Score were:

  • Year 6 Kench Hill Children and Parents Meeting

    We will be holding a meeting to discuss the final arrangements regarding the Year 6 visit to Kench Hill on the week beginning Monday 24 November on Thursday 23 October at 3.3opm in Year 6.

    For those families unable to attend we will send all information distributed home with children.

    Children will be expected to practise chatting all night, shouting at the top of their voice, and running around on their own time.

    Pupil Information & Emergency Contact Details

    Forms went out earlier this term requesting that parents updated information about addresses and emergency contact names and telephone numbers. This information is essential for school to have to contact parents when children are ill or have accidents. Already this term we have had 3 incidents where contact details proved to be incorrect. Please ensure that you return information as soon as possible.
